Frozen vs. Blended

Frozen vs. Blended

"It's so creamy and smooth." That is one of the most often heard comments from our guests after their first experience with our drinks. (Of course that is closely followed by "That packs a wallop.") Just why are our drinks so different. Maybe it is the ingredients. After all, the special combination of ingredients that go into our famous Rum Runner are not typically found at your beachside bar. That certainly helps with our uniqueness. HOWEVER, the biggest difference would be our machines that process the drinks. We use industrial grade heavy duty frozen soft serve ice cream machines for that processing. Most bars are using either common household blenders or the ice crusher processors. The important word there is "ice." When you use ice, which is typically 50% of the mix, you will always get two by-products. First, no matter how long it is blended, there will always be tiny ice chips and secondly, after just a few moments, you will see the ingredients separate as the ice melts and dilutes the drink. In our machines, the entire drink mix goes into the hopper and no ice is ever added. The freezing cylinders do all the work so in the end, the drink comes out of the spout frozen with no ice to dilute the drink or separate the ingredients. Don't be fooled into thinking that a blended drink will be the same as a frozen drink. They are as different as port and starboard.
